Art from the Attic
Art from the Attic 2018 was another successful collaboration between our community and our organization. Thank you to all who donated art, work space, time, and energy to this annual event.
Check out the Saskatchewan Network for Art Collecting website to find some of our treasures for sale at both the fall and spring on-line art auctions.
In addition, we are selling a special collectors’ item via Facebook bids. This framed George Reed jersey has a starting bid of $250, and bidding closes Grey Cup Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 10:00 p.m.
A Chair Affair!
A Chair Affair has been a wonderful success. Thank you, Regina and community – chair donors, artists, G4G members and other volunteers, the complimentary space provider for chair preparation, sponsors, donors and more. Without every component coming together, we would not have been able to offer bidders and buyers these unique works of art!

“Powered by Love- A Grandmothers’ Movement to End AIDS in Africa ”
Thanks for coming to another successful event…
All royalties from the sales of Powered by Love will be directed to the Stephen Lewis Foundation to support organizations run by and for African grandmothers who are raising children orphaned by AIDS. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at this event.
A powerful statement about the book, by journalist-social activist Michele Landsberg: ..“We thought we knew what was happening in Africa when the AIDS pandemic raged across the continent, sweeping away 35 million lives. But we never knew it the way this book reveals it, in the shockingly intimate voices of the grandmothers who had to save the abandoned children when no one else was left alive. These voices will leap straight into your heart. Their unguarded faces, in portraits that glow with character, pain and humour, will captivate you.”
ART from the ATTIC
With great relief and satisfaction, it is a pleasure to bid adieu to AFTA #5 until next autumn (although we will continue to sell art on the SNAC on-line auction this fall and next spring.) It takes a tremendous, collective and collaborative effort to mount this annual fundraiser, however Regina and the surrounding community continue to display solid support of G4G and AFTA as both donors and customers.
Swing into Spring with Rosie & the Riveters was a warm and wonderful evening of marvelous music, fabulous food, friendship and fun. Thank you so much to all who attended and all who generously donated time, talent and goods in support of the event.
